Good Morning, Friend!
Hey, I wanted to take a second to talk about Super Powers and the relationship we have with our own fabulousness… because I think often times we feel like we have to defend our Super Powers, and worse, often times we try to DOWN PLAY them. Let me explain…
I have always felt like words are one of my Super Powers…
I LOVE speaking… but more than just hearing myself talk, I actually love using words to build others up. I love complimenting others. I love being the one to make others feel comfortable by striking up conversations and asking questions. I love using my words to solve problems as well as to convey messages powerfully and eloquently.
HOWEVER.
Not everyone loves words so much.
SO… there have been times in my life where I have felt like I needed to quiet myself… dim my light- or turn down the volume if we are going to stick with the metaphor.
I’ve felt like I’ve needed to cast aside a strength of mine to appease others. I’ve felt like I was “too much”… “too loud”… “too talkative”… And of course, the problem with that is when you say you are “too much” or something, you are also saying you are “not enough” of something else… resulting in you feeling like you are not good enough EXACTLY as you are.
Now, I’m a huge believer in being aware of your surroundings… there is a time and a place for everything… and being flexible to the needs in the present situation. Yes, sometimes, words aren’t required.
What I’m NOT a believer in is dulling your brilliance… shunning your Super Powers because of whatever reason- trying to please others, trying to make others feel more comfortable when it literally doesn’t serve you, etc.
So, last year, I feel SUPER called to STEP ALL THE WAY INTO my Super Power of Speech.
I had a stirring within me to start a podcast because, in today’s day and age where we have SO many mediums for adding value to the world and connecting others, I felt like it would be SUCH an incredible tool for me to use my strengths and, literally, speak directly to the people who GOT IT… the people who GOT ME.
And in November 2017 – I DID IT! And it feels AMAZING!
I get to be ME on my podcast. AND I get to use my STRENGTHS in MY way. There are no rules besides my own. There is no hiding.
And I TRULY believe the words that are spread through “Morning Sunshine with Jillian Bolanz”… whether it’s just me or through the conversations I am able to have with OTHER people who are willing to share THEIR messages and THEIR Super Powers through THEIR words… and actively CHANGING THE WORLD!
